• Overview
• Must have prior auth experience We are seeking a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating surgical procedures and ensuring efficient scheduling processes.
• Duties
• Schedule patient surgeries, coordinating with physicians, patients, and operating room staff
• Arrange pre-operative tests and appointments for patients
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for surgical procedures
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic medical systems
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding surgery preparation instructions and post-operative care
• Collaborate with medical billing and collections teams to ensure accurate billing for surgical services
• Skills
• Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures
• Experience with scheduling surgeries or medical appointments is preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
