Program Operations Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Lexington County, SC Job Responsibilities The SC Higher Education Tuition Grants Commission is the agency charged with the responsibility of administering the South Carolina Tuition Grants Program, which provides grants based on financial need to eligible South Carolina residents attending one of the twenty-two, eligible by law, independent colleges and universities in the State. Position Overview:
Liaison Duties:
Serve as a key contact for colleges and students regarding Tuition Grants Program information, policies, procedures, and general financial aid information. Represent the Commission at financial aid workshops statewide, offering insights into the application process.
Financial Aid Expertise:
Stay up-to-date on other financial aid programs. Attend and participate in professional development workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Audit Coordination:
Assist with the coordination of annual college audits, ensuring compliance with Commission policies. Notify college presidents and financial aid directors about requirements and deadlines.
Appeals and Residency Coordination :
Act as the agency’s Appeals and South Carolina Residency Coordinator, handling related inquiries and preparing all appeals for the Appeals Committee review process.
Fiscal Operations Support:
Assist the Fiscal Operations Coordinator with grant refund processing, balancing student grant disbursement listings, and making necessary changes to applicant files.
Communications Management:
Oversee all agency communications, including managing social media accounts and serving as the primary point of contact for students, colleges, and general public. Handle data entry of application changes and transfer requests, and general weekly reports outlining applicant and awardee information.
Information Security Support:
Assist the Deputy Director with the agency’s Information Security Procedures and manage the internal authorized college contact listings. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of applicant information at all times in compliance with the agency’s Information Security and Data Privacy guidelines and policies, and applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
Administrative Functions:
Perform various administrative tasks, such as general office operations, coordinating mail processing, maintaining application files, and transferring agency files to State Archives.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure effective and efficient agency operations. Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree and two (2) years relevant experience OR high school diploma and four (4) years relevant experience. Strong written and oral communications (customer service) skills and the ability to effectively work with the general public. Strong organizational skills and must be able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to comfortably present program information in a public setting to a wide variety of audiences. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with and overall knowledge of state and federal financial assistance programs.
