Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a full-time Gifts-in-Kind Coordinator 2 to join our Men’s Operations team. The Gifts-in-Kind Coordinator 2 serves as a key member of the Mission’s staff and is responsible for accepting, documenting, sorting, and securing all donations brought to the donation center and loading dock area. The Coordinator must have an understanding of Nashville Rescue Mission’s purpose and message and uphold the Mission Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct at all times. Are you the right person?

Position Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. You’re detail oriented. The Gifts-in-Kinds Coordinator 2 will be responsible for accepting all donations. The Coordinator will also sort, identify, and determine distribution or storage of the gift. Proper documentation and writing receipt donations are a function of this position. Monetary gifts should be immediately delivered to the lock box for processing. You’re a trainer. The ideal candidate for this position is responsible for directing and supervising Life Recovery Program participants or volunteers who are assisting in the department, so they will need to have an interest in training and managing others. A person who enjoys working and mentoring people is a good candidate for this job. You must be able to handle disruptions or unexpected needs and/or drop-offs when they arise for the Mission. You’re strong in your faith. Sharing the love of Jesus Christ is at the heart of this position. Your job is to communicate the Gospel and model Christian character to Life Recovery Program participants and Mission guests. Are you prepared to share the Mission?

Essential Duties:

Greets each donor and accepts each donation. Thanks and offers a receipt to each donor. Completes a receipt for every donation. Ensures that all monetary donations are put in the lock box. Examines, sorts, and determines which donations are for immediate consumption (i.e., kitchen), distribution, or storage and ensures their delivery to the appropriate location. Keeps unauthorized personnel out of the donation area. Trains and supervises all staff, program participants, and volunteers on GIK policy and procedures Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the donation, loading dock, and staging area. Monitors and oversees the trash compactor and schedules disposal when needed. Drives Mission truck/van to help with donation pick-ups when needed.

Other Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Moderate reading and writing skills; typing/computer usage; proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to qualify as a designated Mission vehicle driver under NRM insurance policy: Valid Tennessee driver’s license Have no more than two moving violations in a 3-year period or more than one accident in a 1-year period Proof of insurance on personal vehicle (current)

Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
