Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional with excellent communication skills, able to undertake a variety of administrative, purchasing, and quality related tasks and work diligently under pressure in an industrial setting. For the quality control portion, this position will ensure all raw materials and products conform to standards and specifications. They will facilitate communication between teams and promote an efficient supply chain for all internal and external customers. For inventory, the successful candidate will organize and monitor the storage and distribution of our product, material, and supplies ensuring optimum efficiency and productivity with an eye on all stages of the order and production cycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including but not limited to purchasing, internal communications, inventories, daily production and sales reports, maintaining production schedules, etc.
- Manage QC testing of finished perlite samples and ensure that finished goods meet quality control standards before shipping.
- Manage all functions of the plant labs including collecting, testing, documenting, retention, and training from raw material, through the production, to finished goods testing.
- Verify shipping documents.
- Manage the procurement process, including research suppliers, obtaining quotes and placing orders for materials and supplies.
- Track inventory levels, ensuring that production materials and supplies are ordered and available to avoid delays.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to production, safety, quality, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and submit required reports related to operations, safety inspections, and production metrics.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as OSHA and other applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure efficient production scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation and troubleshoot operational issues and escalate to the plant manager as needed.
- Assist with the coordination of special projects.
- Provide general support to visitors who visit the office and plant.
- Cross train with the office manager and can fill in as needed.
- Cross train with the production supervisor and can fill in as needed.
- Assist the plant manager and maintenance manager as needed.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and public ready area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Accounting knowledge is required.
- Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience is a plus.
- Must be able to read and understand English and be proficient in business communications.
- Excellent computer skills with experience in MS Office (especially Outlook and Excel) is required.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and achieve results.
- Must be detail oriented; possess superb follow up and auditing skills.
- Must have ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have clear and concise verbal communication skills.
- Must have a valid drivers license
