Description Job Summary:

The Surgical Scheduling Specialist is responsible for scheduling surgical procedures for BEH, TC Thompson, Erlanger North and Erlanger East, and scheduling pre-admission testing procedures for BEH surgery. The Specialist must be able to exercise superior communication skills and filter a vast amount of information accurately with the ability to interface effectively with patients, physicians, and all other levels within the organization. Has a working knowledge of CPT, DRG and ICD9 codes for entering Aerodigesitve (Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, and ENT)/Colorectal (Gastroenterology, Surgical, and Urology) /Cleft & Craniofacial / Plastic orders for scheduling. Daily coordination of calls in-bound and outbound calls for the department that pertain to surgery. Handles multiple staff requests, by directing the request to the most appropriate person in a timely manner to respond. Supports nursing staff when needed.

High School education and experience in medical terminology
