The Surgery Scheduler Supervisor is responsible for supervising the surgery schedule department. This is an exempt position. Responsible for managing a team of schedulers and scheduling patients for surgery according to physician’s instructions in office setting or via telephone. Responsible for scheduling, rescheduling and cancelling all procedure(s). Contacts area facility for available time for procedure. Educates patient on all aspects of the procedure that is scheduled. Schedules all pre-op clearance appointments with PCP or specialist. Coordinates all paperwork needed to facility (

Including:

complete order sets, H & Ps and imaging). Coordinates surgical representative through HIPAA compliant channels. Works with physician to keep pre-operative, surgical protocols updated. Schedules all initial follow-up appointments from procedure. Completes informed consents. Resolves work problems to ensure quality patient service related to procedure scheduling. Problem solving to address issues raised by physicians, patients, staff and management Attends required meetings and participates in professional development activates as required. Maintains strictest confidentiality Plan, organize, control and/or coordinate the personnel training Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and solving problems Other assigned duties

Requirements:
EDUCATION

High school diploma

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

: 2+ years of management experience preferred 2 years’ experience as Surgical Scheduler with, and corresponding knowledge of insurance eligibility and authorization is required Understanding medical terminology

ICD-9/CPT

coding familiarity Proficient computer and keyboarding skills is required Ability to effectively communicate using verbal and written skills is required. Proficient excel experience. Excellent organization, ability to problem solve, and accuracy when managing the details of this position is required Ability to work collaboratively with team, clinic directors and physicians to identify breakdowns in processes, determine the root cause and bring solutions forward for discussion and implementation is required.
