Job Description
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Operations Coordinator in Memphis, Tennessee. This position is situated within the intermodal transportation industry, where you will be tasked with overseeing freight movement and driver route planning.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage the daily operations of intermodal freight movement, ensuring optimal driver utilization.
- Plan and schedule driver routes based on customer orders, load availability, and delivery deadlines.
- Coordinate intermodal transportation, including drayage to and from rail yards, ports, and customer locations.
- Proactively handle delays or disruptions in freight status, maintaining regular communication with drivers.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other software to optimize routing and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with rail carriers, port authorities, third-party logistics (3PLs), and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of shipments.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including on-time delivery, driver efficiency, and service issues.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, delivery confirmations, and operational metrics.
- Provide support for load planning, rate analysis, and capacity forecasting. Requirements
- Proficient in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Demonstrable experience in Data Processing
- Familiar with ‘About Time’ software
- Proficient in Auditing procedures and practices
- Experience in Check Processing
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledgeable about Compliance regulations and procedures
- Familiarity with Intermodal Logistics is a plus Hours are Tuesday – Saturday Tuesday – Friday 8 AM to 6 PM Saturday 6 AM to 4 PM
- Intermodal/transportation experience preferred
