Description:
Morin Repair Services in Decatur, AL is looking to add a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to our growing team! Responsibilities will include both administrative duties and physical labor duties pertaining to incoming and outgoing shipments.
General Job Responsibilities:
Prepare documentation for inbound and outbound shipments Work with commercial carriers, drivers, and Morin Logistics Manager to coordinate shipments Communicate with team regarding inbound and outbound shipments Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including job numbers, tracking numbers, and delivery dates. Ensure accountability in receiving, picking, storing, packing, and shipping large rotating equipment and associated parts Operates a clean and safe work environment, ensuring that all areas are well maintained, kept orderly and free of debris Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move or store inventory Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues with incoming or outgoing shipments. Move materials from facilities to workstations, pick-up locations, or other locations Verifies orders and ensures entry into the inventory management system Sort, organize and store items in the proper location. Stack and organize large bulk items Properly secure items for shipping. Package items safely and securely. Build custom wood skids when needed. Use banding and heavy-duty fasteners to secure items to pallets/skids. Ensure items are properly labeled for storage and for shipment Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors Restock shelves, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained. Update logs and documentation for inventory processing Prepare documentation and inventory for audits Wear safety gear at all times Work as an active team member to complete team goals. Collaborate with the service and shop teams to optimize workflows and improve efficiency. Maintains quality standards set forth by management
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED 3+ years of experience in a similar role
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient at Microsoft Office. Basic computer literacy and mathematical skills. Ability to safely operate a forklift Ability to safely utilize power tools Must be dependable/reliable. Strong attention to detail and organization skills are essential. Ability to multi-task between several situations simultaneously. Consistent sense of urgency with problem solving and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed to work well within the entire organization, at all levels. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision as well as within a team, to accomplish desired goals. Available to work a minimum of 8 hours during a business day. Flexibility to stay after hours as needed to follow an active issue to resolution. Physical ability to safely perform job functions which require continuous viewing of a computer screen, repetitive typing and data entry as well as a high percentage of standing & sitting. Willing and able to stand at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
