Shipping & Receiving Clerk HYRD Bridgeport, CT 06607 Summary Responsible for handling various shipping, receiving, and finishing tasks. Duties include preparing products and documentation for shipment, receiving and inspecting incoming materials, performing parts cleaning, and completing final finishing processes. Primary Responsibilities Receive and unload incoming shipments, inspect packaging for visible damage, and report any discrepancies or issues to the shipper or delivery personnel. Carry out a variety of tasks such as shipping and receiving operations, secondary manufacturing processes, and facility maintenance as needed. May be required to operate a company vehicle for pickups and deliveries. Key Competencies Familiarity with warehouse layouts, inventory identification, and standard stock handling procedures for efficient material picking and stocking. Capable of completing necessary documentation or data entry related to inventory, including product descriptions, quantities, units of measure, and labeling for both inbound and outbound materials. Proficient in basic computer use and willing to learn software applications related to warehouse management, such as ERP systems and Office365. Skilled in operating material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other shop tools. Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to follow instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations. Possession of a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and vehicle registration. Ability to lift heavy objects when necessary. Forklift certification is preferred but not required. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a factory or warehouse shipping and receiving environment.
