1943 SUMMARY To fulfill the requirements of the company’s shipping department by being responsible for the receiving, proper storage and distribution of products and supplies. Maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment. Follow company policies, regulations and operating procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure picking, checking, packing, and shipping is performed as per QSI procedure
QSI-15-02.
  • To be in charge of the shipping department’s smooth flow and operations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop Shipping Clerks I and Shipping Clerks II.
  • Distribute daily work assignments of Shipping Clerks I and Shipping Clerks II.
  • Monitor daily workload and adjust resources as required.
  • Ensure Shipping Department’s daily tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor picking accuracy.
  • Support cycle count activities as per QSI procedure
QSI-15-04.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Periodically check PIT battery for water.
  • Keep areas clean and safe.
  • Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping systems.
  • Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and IATA regulations.
  • Utilize ERP (QAD-MFG PRO) to process inventory transactions.
  • All other duties as assigned (including but not limited to working in other departments, assignments, etc.)
  • Run end of day reports to ensure all sales orders are shipped correctly
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no direct supervisory responsibility. However, the job may lead up to 15 shipping clerks.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operator training certificate to operate forklift.
