Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Receiving and Donation Associates to join our team at our faith-based thrift store. This role is essential in ensuring that all donated items are properly received, sorted, priced, and prepared for display. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on attention to detail, physical stamina, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team, embodying our store’s mission and values. Day and Evening shifts available

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving Donations:

Greet donors and assist with unloading donations, ensuring that all items are carefully handled. Accurately assess and sort incoming donations based on store needs, condition, and pricing guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.

Pricing and Tagging:

Price items accurately according to store guidelines, using a keen eye for quality and value. Ensure that each item is appropriately labeled and categorized for easy display and sale. Stay current on pricing trends, store promotions, and seasonal items to ensure optimal pricing.

Inventory Management:

Assist with inventory counts and organization, ensuring proper stock rotation and neat display. Collaborate with the store team to ensure items are displayed in an inviting and organized manner.

Physical Labor:

Ability to lift and move boxes, bags, and large items (up to 50 lbs) throughout the day. Work both inside and outside. Stand, bend, and walk for extended periods while performing tasks.

Customer Service:

Assist customers as needed with questions related to products, donations, or store operations. Ensure a welcoming, positive, and respectful environment, reflecting the faith-based values of the store.

Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative. Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions. Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor toward donors, customers, and fellow team members. A passion for supporting a faith-based organization and commitment to the store’s mission. Previous retail or thrift store experience is a plus but not required.

Working Conditions:

This position requires a physical and fast-paced work environment. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions. Standing, lifting, and walking for long periods is required.
