The Shipping Clerk ensures proper receipt and processing of all paperwork and materials being shipped. Assist with all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory control, including but not limited to packing materials for shipment, building pallets, delivering packages and paperwork to internal departments/personnel and other duties as assigned by supervisor. The Shipping Clerk is also responsible for backing up the order checker associates position in the case of absences, PTO, etc. Depending on workflow they may be asked to help out in this position also even while the order checker associate is on duty.
Major Responsibilities:
Verifies and keeps records outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipping. Uses a computer as needed for email, internet information and uses Microsoft Office documents. Packages label orders per customer specifications Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Process orders in UPS WorldShip software and Fedex ship manager and prepare for carrier picked up. Check finished goods inventory and advise appropriate personnel the quantity on-hand of a product that was ordered. Performs other duties as assigned. Basic computer knowledge and ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
Physical Demands:
In performing the job of Shipping Clerk, the employee must stand and walk for an 8+ hour shift. Additionally, the position requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and handling of items up to 50 lbs. Moderate hand-eye coordination, near vision, far vision and hearing is required for the operation of warehouse machinery.

Ability to read, write and understand English A high school diploma Previous warehouse experience an asset Ability to work in a fast-paced environment UPS WorldShip and Fedex ship manager Able to stand for full 8 hour shift Able to lift 50lb Attention to detail Excellent organizational and time-management skills Willingness to follow safety protocols Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude Team player with strong attention to detail Exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands Flexibility to work overtime and weekend as needed is required.
