Shipping Clerk 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Garden City, GA 31408 Overview The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the shipping and receiving activities within the organization. This role includes preparing shipping documents, verifying the accuracy of shipments, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and be capable of efficiently managing multiple shipping tasks to contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department. Responsibilities Prepare and verify shipping documentation for outbound packages Coordinate shipping schedules and communicate with carriers Inspect and document incoming shipments for accuracy Manage inventory levels and reorder supplies as necessary Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards Maintain organized records of shipping and receiving activities Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely order fulfillment Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of experience in shipping or logistics roles Basic understanding of inventory management Ability to lift and move heavy packages as needed Preferred Requirements Associates degree in business, logistics, or a related field Experience with freight forwarding processes Knowledge of international shipping procedures Certification in supply chain management Skills Attention to detail Strong organizational skills Familiarity with shipping software and databases Knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance Excellent communication skills Ability to manage inventory effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
