Job Description
Shipping and Receiving Clerk 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA 30308 We are hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a high-volume operation in the heart of downtown Atlanta. This role is essential to the smooth daily operation of our property, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for handling deliveries, loading and unloading trucks, inspecting materials for damage, managing inventory records, and ensuring timely distribution of materials across departments—all while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and safety. $17.00/hr –
Paid Weekly Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and document all incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality. Load and unload delivery trucks as needed safely and efficiently. Inspect materials for defects or damage during shipping and report issues immediately. Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to standards and schedules. Maintain a clean and organized loading dock and storage areas. Accurately update inventory records and perform regular audits. Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to coordinate deliveries and pickups. Use equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks to move goods safely. Follow all company safety protocols and procedures during handling and storage. Assist in general storeroom duties and cross-train on related operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment preferred. Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software. Excellent communication and attention to detail. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
