Job Description

This position is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and maintains accurate records by performing the following tasks to quality and productivity standards. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Practice safe work habits. Examines content and confirms accuracy of shipping documents for outgoing shipments. Prepare documents such as bill of lading and shipping orders to route materials. Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes. Packs, seals, affixes labels to prepare materials for shipping. Prepares export documents for international shipment of goods. Prepares product shipment through UPS system (labeling, tagging, packaging, etc.) and FedEx. Data entry of yardage and weights of rolls in JOMAR System. Communicates order changes to appropriate personnel and shipping carriers. Communicate with corporate office personnel for credit checks, assuring marketing requirements are met in a courteous and most efficient manner. Schedules pick-ups of shipments with truck lines and assures necessary paperwork is complete for the pick-up of products. Confers and corresponds with appropriate personnel to rectify problems, such as damage, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications. Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, email, in written form, or in person about how the job function is proceeding. Identifies information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities and detecting changes in circumstances or events. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish their work in a timely manner. Reads measuring tools accurately for scheduling pickups with carriers. Performs other duties assigned by management. Competencies Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Time Management

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This employee may be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch and occasionally lift up to 25 Ibs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to heat, flame, chemicals, and noises. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Tuesday to Friday from 7am to 5pm Travel This position requires no travel Required Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Certificate Proficiency in Microsoft Office usage JOMAR experience preferred. Experience in Shipping preferred.
