Job Description

Shipping/Receiving Associate Job Summary:

The Chemical Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing outbound shipments and aiding in receiving finished goods and raw materials. This role works closely with the Warehouse Team to ensure efficient and accurate receiving processes. Key responsibilities include adhering to customer instructions, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), prioritizing shipments based on shipping dates and delivery types, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. Interaction with production teams to verify inventory, as well as seeking process improvement opportunities, is vital. Duties & Responsibilities:

Promote customer core values: Caring, Curiosity, Collaboration, and Competitive Spirit. Collaborate with the Warehouse Team for efficient product movement from storage to point of sale. Load and unload finished products and materials. Verify counts and weights against shipping documents. Prepare parcels for shipment. Take direction from Warehouse Lead to prioritize tasks and manage daily activities. Ensure product alignment with pick instructions. Stage materials for counting and inspection. Follow the customer Shipment Checklist for outgoing shipments. Store materials efficiently and safely. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Report accidents and incidents to management. Adhere to departmental procedures and checklists. Education and/or

Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 5 years of warehouse experience preferred. Required experience in the chemical industry. Prefer shipping DOT hazmat training and experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory control.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and similar equipment safely. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and strong work ethic. Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization.

Safety/Essential Functions:

Valid driver’s license required. DOT, IMDG, and IATA training must be completed within the first 90 days. Forklift certification required within 120 days. Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work in adverse weather conditions. Competence in using personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work in environments with chemical odors. Must evacuate efficiently during emergencies.
