Shipping Clerk 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 24250 Regina St, Plaquemine, LA 70764 St. John High School is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, vendor coordination, and logistics support. The ideal candidate will work closely with our administrative and facility teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, while maintaining compliance with all shipping regulations and school procedures. Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to): Coordinate shipments and deliveries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal and external policies Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and equipment Secure quotes from qualified vendors for shipping materials and services to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery Manage supplier communication and maintain records of all incoming/outgoing shipments Collaborate with vendors and logistics providers to resolve shipping delays or discrepancies Assist in planning and negotiating shipping and vendor contracts Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as necessary to support school operations Maintain a clean, organized shipping/receiving area and ensure proper storage of materials Track and report on shipping costs, timelines, and performance metrics
Demonstrated Skills and Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting Ability to problem-solve and manage logistics challenges efficiently Experience with inventory management and shipping software (preferred) Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime or weekends
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and verifiable driving experience Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Must pass a background check or obtain security clearance if required
