Shipping/Receiving Clerk 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 3400 Roy Avenue, Alexandria, LA 71301 • Experienced Only Need Apply The UPS Shipping/ Receiving Clerk is responsible for the safety of personnel & coordination of daily operations of Shipping & Receiving department.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Compares identifying information and counts of incoming shipments to verify information against SAP purchase orders and packing lists. Examines incoming shipments for any damages or shortages and notes accordingly on the freight bill delivery receipts. Instructs forklift operators for the proper route/department material is to be taken to the day shipment arrives. Process shipping paperwork including packing lists and bill of ladings. Ensure the pallets of outbound material are secured/wrapped to pallet to minimize potential damage. Manage UPS outbound daily shipments to ensure orders are shipped timely and accurately. Schedule flatbed trucks an vans as needed for on time delivery to customers. Supervise loading of vans and flatbeds for accuracy and proper loading techniques to ensure load is not damaged and is safe. Assure quality process control procedures and measures are followed. Update SAP with accurate information for receivables and SAP Process Weaver for daily outbound shipments. Strong knowledge of LTL and truckload shipping paperwork and operations. Sound knowledge related to production, processing, product identification, safety, and quality policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. •
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to work in cold and hot environment. Ability to work with and supervise employees. Ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Knowledge of computers and software:
Excel, Word, SAP, Etc. •
Education/Experience:
2-3+ years of warehouse, shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
