6 3.6 out of 5 stars 52 Gardner Street, Attleboro, MA 02703 JOB SUMMARY Perform and support the receipt and inspection of all incoming materials as well as perform outbound shipment processing. Loads, unloads, and moves materials in a loading dock and warehouse environment. Carefully examine incoming and outgoing materials to ensure accuracy of weights, documentation, and material descriptions. Set up and prepare materials for processing, refinement, and shipment.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required ; knowledge of any or all the following a plus
- SAP/ FedEx & UPS software / DOT/RCRA/IATA Skill
- Strong math & English skills required; ability to accurately and neatly complete assigned work; must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds Experience
- Prior experience in Shipping, Receiving, warehouse, or inspection work preferred but willing to train right candidate Technical
- Ability to use manual and powered material handling equipment; working knowledge of MS Office and computer skills required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments and receipts. Move shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas. Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments; verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Perform a variety of materials handling requirements using barrel trucks, pallet trucks or forklifts. Inspect and weigh in-house & customer material, determine processing needs, and input records into customized software programs Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Route items to departments; put material into storage and forward completed records to control area. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications, draft hazardous material bills of lading, package and label as required. Determine and set up all outgoing shipments using appropriate Shipper’s software; comply with all regulations and laws. Performing other duties and assignments as required within the Material Control Department.
