We work closely with our customers to enhance their profitability by supporting their requirements for high quality, precision parts delivered on-time while maintaining a high degree of integrity, dependability, quality, loyalty and trust and are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team on the day shift full-time.
JOB POSITION
We are seeking a dependable and detail-focused Shipping and Receiving Associate to support our manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and accurate movement of parts, materials, and tooling throughout the supply chain. The associate will handle the packaging and shipment of precision-manufactured parts, coordination with outside vendors, receipt of incoming materials, and maintenance of documentation for all shipping and receiving activities. This individual will also manage tooling orders and work closely with machinists and the quality team on gage and pin sign out.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping:
Package finished manufactured parts for shipment according to customer and internal quality specifications. Create shipping documentation including packing slips, certifications, and labels. Ensure outgoing shipments are complete, accurate, and traceable. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
Receiving:
Receive incoming raw materials, manufactured parts, tooling, and supplies. Inspect received items for quantity and quality; document and report discrepancies. Log received items into ERP or inventory system and tag for traceability. Route received goods to appropriate departments (production, quality, storage, etc.).
Vendor Coordination:
Track and organize parts sent to outside vendors for processes such as heat treating, plating, coating, etc. Prepare outgoing vendor shipments and maintain logs for traceability.
Tooling & Gage Management:
Process tooling orders and monitor delivery timelines. Maintain a check-in/check-out log for gages and pins used by machinists and quality inspectors. Ensure all tools are returned in good condition and calibrated as needed. Support audits and calibration tracking in coordination with the quality department.
Documentation & Recordkeeping:
Maintain shipping and receiving logs, including certifications and inspection records. Ensure all shipping paperwork (certifications, labels, tracking numbers) is complete and archived properly. Support traceability and document control for quality compliance (ISO, AS9100, etc., if applicable). Assist in monthly or quarterly inventory counts as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of experience in a shipping/receiving role in a manufacturing environment. Ability to safely lift and move up to 40 lbs regularly. Familiarity with shipping software and ERP systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle documentation accurately. Effective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of manufacturing documentation and quality systems (ISO/AS9100) is a plus.
Work Environment:
Primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse setting. Requires standing, walking, lifting, and handling parts throughout the day.
