Job Summary:
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing materials, including loading and unloading trucks, transferring materials between warehouse and production areas, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role involves coordinating freight shipments with logistics providers, communicating effectively with internal departments, and ensuring warehouse cleanliness and organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Unload deliveries of raw materials and properly store them in the warehouse. Transport raw materials from the warehouse to designated production areas. Collect unused raw materials from production and return them to inventory. Retrieve finished goods from production and store them in the appropriate warehouse location. Prepare and complete Bills of Lading and other shipping documents for outbound shipments. Coordinate with Production, Sales, and Customer Service to schedule shipments and confirm product availability. Schedule freight pickups with trucking and logistics companies. Arrange small parcel shipments using UPS, FedEx, and other carrier online platforms. Track raw material and finished goods inventory using spreadsheets and company ERP systems (e.g., BatchMaster). Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Operate forklifts, grip trucks, and pallet jacks to transport materials safely. Follow all company safety procedures and promote a culture of safe work practices. Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with shipping hazardous materials preferred. Valid forklift operator certification and experience. Certifications in DOT 49 CFR, IMDG, and IATA preferred. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. #
