We are currently seeking a dependable individual to join us as a Receiver & Shipper at our Worcester, MA location. As a Receiver & Shipper, you are essential to the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution processes. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that incoming materials are accurately received and stored, and outgoing shipments are properly prepared and dispatched. You will play a key role in the efficient flow of goods throughout the warehouse and contribute to our commitment to delivering high-quality products and service to our customers. Experience in the plumbing and/or HVAC industry is preferred, but we welcome individuals who are motivated to learn and eager to grow within the company—training will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving & Inspection:
Receive and inspect all incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and completeness. Verify items against purchase orders and packing slips. Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate department immediately.
Shipping & Fulfillment:
Pick and pack items for customer orders accurately and efficiently. Prepare outbound shipments, including labeling, documentation, and carrier scheduling. Ensure timely dispatch of orders and communicate shipping updates as needed. Assist drivers with loading outgoing deliveries and ensure packages are secure and accurate.
Inventory Documentation:
Accurately document receipts into the inventory management system. Label and store items in designated warehouse locations to ensure proper inventory organization. Assist in regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
Material Handling:
Safely and efficiently handle plumbing and HVAC materials, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and equipment. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment in compliance with safety procedures.
Warehouse Organization & Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving, shipping, and storage area. Ensure items are stored in accessible, clearly marked locations.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate and work closely with team members across departments to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Contribute to a positive and productive team environment. In addition, to be considered for this role, you must meet the following basic qualifications:
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
