Material Clerk :
What you will do: Initiate purchase requisitions for materials and supplies as needed. Verifies material received against requisition, shipping notices, or invoices. Completes records concerned with quantity and type of material received, stored, and issued in the plant and use handheld scanner to enter records. Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping notices, or invoices to determine irregularities. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, and color or product code Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves. Prepares parcels for mailing and shipping. Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards; opens bales, crates, and other containers. Operates material handling equipment to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations within the plant for shipment. Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment and follow all safety rules. Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled. Additional Qualifications Include:
A high school diploma or GED is required, as well as 3 months of related experience and/or training. Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, overhead crane, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, safety rules, operating instruction, procedure manuals and memos. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers. Basic skill level of computer programs such as Microsoft Office are highly desirable. What we
