Position Summary:

Responsible for the receipts and storage of parts, products and material to meet the inventory, production and operating needs of the division.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Performs typical receiving functions such as; verifying counts and part numbers, matching paper or electronic Purchase Orders to goods received, evaluating the condition of packages for damage or loss, filing and record keeping.
  • Oversees incoming shipment and delivery activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Processes receipt of returned parts and ATR’s and moves them to appropriate locations.
  • Performs all receiving transactions involving the receipt of products and materials and makes necessary adjustments under the direction of Procurement and/or Materials Management.
  • Corrects problems with incoming or shipments or inventory counts by selecting from one or more established procedures.
  • Opens containers and loads/unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Creates stock locations and maintains a 5S Kanban area. Makes Kanban cards as required when cards are damaged or lost under the direction of Materials and Planning.
  • Audits Kanban system to ensure proper materials are identified and the proper number of Kanban cards or containers are in the Kanban system.
  • Communicates any deviation in Kanban quantities to the appropriate Buyer and Planner or manufacturing team leaders and log such information.
  • Coordinates and performs cycle counting activities. Investigates inventory errors and reports results. Reports errors and discrepancies to the Materials and Planning area.
  • Files all Receiving-related inventory transaction documents and maintains them according to Record Retention Policies.
  • Coordinates outside Vendor Operations and Transactions.
  • Reads work orders and schedules, or follows oral instructions to determine and ascertain what materials need to be moved.
  • Moves material within the factory by physically carrying or using various material handling equipment as authorized.
  • Operates Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • Maintains physical locations of material stored within the facility.
  • Understands and complies with relevant Import/Export Regulations regarding spaning and documentation.
  • Understands ISO procedures and know where appropriate documentation is kept.
  • Audits kanbans and consignment to ensure proper materials identified proper number of kanban cards or containers as well as inventory accuracy. Makes new kanban cards when cards are damaged or lost.
  • Primary responsibility managing the consignment inventory, cycling counting, proper controlled inventory accuracy and material handling of inventory.
  • Backup help to receiving.
  • Other duties maybe assigned as required.
Education, Credentials and Previous Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-12 months of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, Parker preferred.
Technical Depth and Breadth:
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to follow written/verbal instructions and directions in English.
  • Learns and maintains required skill and proficiency to successfully accomplish full job responsibilities; willingly takes on new assignments and cross trains in other areas.

  • In coordination with team members, initiate contact with other support groups to resolve problems.
  • Actively participate in improvement activities, Lean and Kaizen projects, HPT and TIB meetings.
