Description:
Key areas of responsibility: Assist in all areas of shipping and receiving functions. Organizes and packs shipments to necessary guidelines for customers. Assists and performs all computer functions necessary to ship against work orders and necessary tracking. Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with supervisor to rectify damages and shortages. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Prepares boxes and puts together materials for shipping needs. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma or GED.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience in shipping & receiving in a manufacturing environment.
Technical & Soft Skills:
Working knowledge of computers/inventory system. Microsoft knowledge of Word and Excel Will be required to use a forklift on a regular basis; training will be provided. Ability to multi-task and display high attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Supports company values. Good communication skills. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Travel May be required to periodically travels between NH facility sites (Exeter & Seabrook).
