Shipping/Receiving & Stockroom Support Specialist Location :

Position Summary:
Under general guidance within a team environment, this role is responsible for performing a variety of moderate-to-complex product support duties. This includes supporting raw stock management, parts identification, shipping, receiving, and stockroom activities, as well as assisting in the development and improvement of related procedures and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Raw Stock Management :
Receive incoming raw stock and verify materials against documentation to ensure accuracy of identification and quantity. Load and unload trucks, moving raw materials to appropriate locations. Identify and code raw materials; operate saws to cut stock according to dimensional specifications. Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed. Report critical shortages or issues to the appropriate departments. Issue jobs per schedule and update shop floor, MRP, and other relevant systems.
Parts Identification :
Accurately identify parts using proper methods and equipment specified in the traveler and/or blueprint. Mark parts with exact dimensions and locations for identification, ensuring clear and legible markings.
Shipping :
Prepare parts and materials for shipment, ensuring safe handling. Complete necessary shipping paperwork and shipping records, including computer input for labels, forms, and other required documents. Interpret shipping instructions based on company documents or customer specifications for preservation and packaging. Mark shipments legibly and prepare air bills, bills of lading, and sales order forms. Coordinate with carriers for dispatching shipments, establishing rates, or tracking shipments.
Receiving :
Receive and verify incoming shipments at the receiving dock and direct materials to the appropriate teams. Weigh or count parts and materials, ensuring accuracy in quantity. Perform data input to update system records and verify completeness of shipping documents.
Stockroom :
Receive, check, and identify parts by type or part number. Store parts appropriately and prepare them for storage according to company standards. Select parts from inventory to fulfill orders based on parts lists. Perform cycle inventory counts and update records using computer systems. If applicable, operate Advanced Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS), including tasks like requisitioning, releasing, editing, filling shortages, and deleting requisitions.
Clean Operations :
Utilize cleaning and degreasing methods to remove oil and contaminants from parts and equipment according to established procedures. Maintain cleaning solutions in equipment and oil parts to prevent rust and corrosion. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements:
Education :
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience :
Minimum of two years of related product support experience or demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities listed.
Skills :
Proficiency in computer terminal operations. Strong manual dexterity and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to read and understand related forms, specifications, and instructions. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
Certifications :
May require a forklift operator certificate.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Additional Notes :
May be required to operate moving equipment and saw equipment in compliance with OSHA safety standards. Demonstrated ability to meet job performance expectations in a dynamic work environment.

Schedule:

Are you comfortable with basic computer data entry (e.g., updating inventory records)? Do you have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Production, Quality)? Can you describe a time you resolved a shipping/receiving discrepancy? Have you worked with raw stock or materials before (e.g., loading/unloading, cutting stock, identifying materials)? Have you worked in a stockroom or inventory control role, including cycle counts and parts selection?
