Full Job Description SUMMARY:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Several other duties related to the operation may be assigned as needed daily. Completes daily receiving entries in computer system. Distributes to purchasing office for filing. Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit Manages accurate and ongoing physical raw material and critical supply inventories, including maintenance and cleaning of inventory area, inventory organization and racking, inventory cycle counting and reporting, monthly inventory accounting. Actual physical counts of raw material and tag controls required. Responsible for managing all outbound shipments, including preparation of sequentially numbered paperwork in software accounting system, management of packaging materials inventories, packaging of product to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation services. UPS/FedEx software is to be used effectively and understood for summary reporting on request. Maintains all shipping materials and supplies. Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods. Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the quality department. Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

There is no travel required for this position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not supervise employees.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
