SUMMARY OF POSITION
Primarily responsible for performing clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. High priority placed on Quality Control of incoming and outgoing goods. Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on data entry accuracy, freight quoting evaluation and shipping documentation. Computer work required with organizational attributes in filing, scanning and communication.

CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Approach every task with safety as a priority, stopping any process if safety is a concern and reporting safety concerns immediately
Verify and maintain documentation records on outgoing shipments
Compare and identify information (counts, weights, measures) outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other documents
Arrange pick-ups with carriers (phone, fax and/or internet)
Confirm that daily pick-ups have been arranged and recall carriers as necessary
Process orders for shipping
Create, edit, confirm, and print all shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, labels, picking tickets.
Learn the different packaging requirements of Icon and its customers
Appropriate labels and documents needed for each customer
Post weights, shipping charges and postage
Create international customs invoices and assemble documents for customs control
Quality Verification of inbound and returns (RGA’s)
Review and document if any, damages, and shortages with warehouse staff
Forward quality issues to QC department to perform quality testing
Reject damaged items
Notify appropriate team members and outside vendors, if necessary, to rectify quality issues, damages, or shortages
Receive and account for damaged or defective goods received with return authorization (RGA)
Document inbound and return qty’s (cycle count sheets) to add product into stocked inventory
Print and scan daily pick tickets as directed
Advise management immediately of any machine problems, material concerns, or any other issues that arise
Partner with Customer Service and Production Departments relating to customer orders and inventory accuracy
Interact daily with internal shipping team members to ensure orders are processed properly
Maintain organized files and workspace
Assist in all cycle counts and physical inventories (monthly, yearly, and as assigned)
Maintain flexibility regarding hours worked to respond to high demand periods when required
Display professionalism in all settings
Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
A high level of safety related knowledge and excellent safety record is required. Ability to manage time and organization of multiple priorities and projects is essential. Must be able to
read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos and effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and solve problems involving multiple variables and different levels of complexity. Computer proficiency in company required software and Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel) is preferred. High School diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
