Overview
Element has an opportunity for a regular full-time Logistics/Operations Specialist. The individual will be responsible for receiving parts, verifying BOL information, and shipping and receiving. This Position will be responsible for pulling DSQR parts for inspection and boxing for shipping. This individual will also cross-train in various areas to support the needs of the business.
Salary:
$19- $24/hr DOE Responsibilities
- Receive samples and document receipt
- Distribute samples to the correct sample storage location
- Read, understand and follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform all work using the job safety requirements and proper PPE.
- Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance and determine the most economical and efficient shipping method including but not limited to the selecting the appropriate shipping container and pack items to ensure safe delivery
- Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures
- Ability to receive, track, and distribute / stock materials, supplies, and equipment
- Obtain authorized signatures for shipped and recieved items from carrier
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers
- May operate dolly, pallet jack, and / or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms
- Prepare bills of lading; check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct
- Trace lost shipments and / or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery documents
- Maintain department database, and file shipping / receiving records
- Follow established department policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, as well as safety, environmental, and / or infection control standards.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Interpret specifications/standards to ensure correct application to testing.
- Support the establishment of best practice procedures, methodologies, and standards for the department using resources in industry standards and engaged experts throughout the company.
- Participate in team-oriented discussions to decrease turn time, reduce cost, reduce waste, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Skills / Qualifications - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to interpret testing procedures and requirements
- Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
- Well developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
- Availability and flexibility to work outside of the normal 8am-5pm workday when necessary in order to meet client sampling requirements, including arriving before 8am as well as working beyond 5pm or on weekends and/or holidays
