Status:
Non-Exempt A shipping clerk is responsible for the efficient processing and dispatch of outgoing shipments from a company, including tasks like generating shipping labels, tracking inventory of packaging material needed to ship product (s), and coordinating with carriers as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory management: Maintaining accurate inventory levels of all materials needed for shipping of company products.
Shipping label generation:
Creating shipping labels with accurate addresses and barcodes.
Carrier coordination:
Selecting appropriate shipping carriers and scheduling pick-ups.
Documentation:
Completing necessary shipping paperwork including packing slips, and customs forms.
Shipping system updates:
Inputting tracking details into SO and shipping management Filing Claims for damaged or lost shipments with FedEx Ground and any other carrier as needed. Reconcile Payments for damaged or lost shipments on Acumatica dashboard. Upholding company standards Working within company
SOP Skills and Qualifications:
Attention to detail: Ability to accurately input information.
Physical ability:
Capability to lift and move heavy packages regularly.
Computer skills:
Basic computer skills a must. Shipping software/management skills a plus.
Organizational skills:
Efficiently managing multiple orders and prioritizing tasks.
Communication skills:
Effective interaction with internal teams and external carriers.
