Shipping Clerk Priority Placements Group Elizabethton, TN 37643 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of our metal stamp facility, ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting our operational goals. Duties Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders to ensure accuracy. Inspect packages for damage and report discrepancies or issues to management. Utilize RF scanners to track inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records. Load and unload trucks using forklifts, ensuring safe handling of all products. Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow within the shipping and receiving department. Assist in inventory management tasks, including stock rotation and cycle counts as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role within a distribution center is advantageous. Basic math skills for accurate inventory counting and order processing. Familiarity with MRP systems is a plus. Proficient in operating forklifts; certification preferred but not required (training may be provided). Experience with order picking, packing, and using RF scanners is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
