POSITION PURPOSE
- Manages warehouse staff and workflow to efficiently handle workload
- The warehouse manager must have a customer centric focus and be able to set up effective procedures and plans to meet the day-to-day needs of his/her customers
- Works with Operations Manager to better warehouse strategy and procedures
- Works with Purchasing and Customer Service
- Accepts, processes, and puts away incoming stock and materials
- Picks, stages, and loads outbound orders, shipments, and transfers
- Controls costs by assuring that products are safety stored, counted, and delivered to the proper consignee on time without damages
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE
The warehouse manager is responsible for directing shipping and warehouse activities to achieve maximum efficiency with no interruption to the “production” operation of the warehouse complex by scheduling and implementing the schedule. Must set priorities, coordinate, and utilize resources to achieve his/her goals. Typical physical duties will include loading and unloading trucks, receiving products, and picking, packing, wrapping, labeling, and/or shipping products. The warehouse manager ensures that the workers maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the warehouse. The warehouse manager maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Warehouse manager enforces adherence to operational requirements; advising management on needed actions. The warehouse manager safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. The warehouse manager controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system. The warehouse manager works with operations/logistics manager to maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, requesting work orders for repair, and requisitions for replacement. The warehouse manager completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees to tasks and following up on work results. The warehouse manager maintains warehouse staff by orienting new employees and conducting ongoing training of current employees. Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. The warehouse manager contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. The warehouse manager reviews all outbound orders for accuracy and attempts to resolve customer complaints before they occur.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
High school diploma or equivalency required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Applicable knowledge of warehouse strategy and procedures, KPI, and general supply chain principles required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience increasing efficiency, creating procedures and policies, measuring warehouse KPI, managing relationships with partner carriers and terminals, routing freight, maintaining equipment, as well as experience scheduling and planning for variable throughput requirements.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Forklift certification required, squeeze trucks with box clamp attachments experience preferred, and familiarity with WMS/handheld scanners a plus
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiencies with Excel, Outlook, and Window’s operating systems is required
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
REPETITIVE MOTION:
Required to walk, stand, or be on a lift the majority of the shift.
TALKING:
Required to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Ideas must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITES
The worker is required to have acceptable visual acuity to accurately and safely perform activities such as: driving and operating a squeeze-clamp lift, forklift, or pallet jack.
AVERAGE HEARING
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound
PHYSICAL STRENGTH
Required to lift up to 50 lbs.

REASONING ABILITY:
Basic judgment and reasoning skills required.
MATHMATICS ABILITY
Ability to do basic mathematical calculations is required.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to speak and understand the English language is required.
