This position requires a strong communicator who is comfortable working in office and field environments, can lift to 50 lbs., interact with vendors and crews, and operates with high organization and urgency. This is not a desk job , it requires daily movement, jobsite visits, and a field-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Driver & Delivery Coordination, Field Oversight & Quality Control:
Schedule and dispatch drivers in accordance with FDOT and freight movement laws to ensure timely and compliant material delivery to active job sites. Confirm daily routes, delivery expectations, and time windows with all parties. Inspect the fleet daily for truck maintenance requirements Maintain a delivery log with notes on performance, issues, or delays. Track material shipments and notify project managers of expected delivery times. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure the correct material is loaded for each delivery. Ensure drivers follow safety protocols, load/unload expectations, and maintain professionalism on-site. Inspect materials for damage or accuracy before delivery.
Technology & Reporting:
Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and iPads to manage schedules, generate reports, and document deliveries. Update and maintain a shared delivery calendar and tracking sheet. Forecast delivery needs and plan resources based on project schedules and changes. Submit weekly performance and delivery reports to operations leadership.
Communication & Collaboration:
Serve as the liaison between drivers, warehouse, field crews, and Sales Staff . Proactively communicate changes, conflicts, or concerns related to deliveries or material logistics. Assist in coordinating last-minute rerouting or emergency deliveries.
Required Qualifications:
Prior experience in dispatching, logistics, or delivery coordination (construction or trades preferred). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfortable using an iPad and scheduling software. Able to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working both in an office and field environment daily. Requirements Proven experience in logistics coordination or a related field is preferred. Strong understanding of order fulfillment processes and demand planning strategies. Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, as well as transportation management systems. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient in inventory management practices, including tracking and auditing stock levels. Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus but not mandatory. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and vendors. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
Work Environment:
This is not a desk job , the role requires a strong on-site presence, including warehouse coordination, and direct oversight of deliveries. Must be comfortable being outdoors, on construction sites, and actively engaging with field crews and drivers throughout the day.
