Premier Packaging is a fast growing, forward thinking provider for all packaging needs. From corrugated, warehouse solutions, design & engineering to packaging supplies. This position is a mid-level manager and reports to the Regional Operations Manager. The Distribution Manager will be directly involved with the planning and execution of managing and delivering product in the region. The tasks listed below describe the major responsibilities of the position but should not be considered inclusive.
Essential Functions:
Ensure proper staffing and manpower needs are appropriate Possess thorough understanding of key performance indicators and the factors that drive the Warehouse and shipping metrics Participate in the budgeting and management of the distribution center Maintain a close working relationship with Manufacturing for seamless flow of product through the facility Maintain a historical understanding of customer satisfaction criteria for various clients Manage preventative maintenance program Personnel Management Oversee employee evaluations and ensure they are conducted on schedule Ensure that supervision applies the attendance bonus and Quality Bonus Program consistently Enforce safety rules and safe place work habits on a continual basis Ensure safe operation of all personnel and manage all accident investigations Ensure accurate receipt and put-away of all product Responsible for unit appearance, proper warehouse stacking, adequate banding, cleanliness, and visual appealing aisle ways, bays, and racks Put away activity into inventory bays and racking system Ensure stock rotation and observance of FIFO practices Utilization of the sharpshooter barcode system Ensure daily cycle counts are conducted and that the accuracy of inventory is never less than 98% Efficient, on time, accurate transportation and delivery Preparation of the daily load schedule lineup, load arrangement, scheduled stops, dock times, resource availability, and asset utilization Communication of all shortages and non-ships to Customer Service and Sales Ensure fleet is operating within the law and fully compliant with all regulations governing both local and interstate commerce Responsibility of accurate paperwork, bill of ladings, and completeness of transactions
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma, some college preferred 5-7 years of previous management / supervisory experience in an industrial environment, specifically within inventory management Critical thinking skills – The ability to sort, analyze and interpret data; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action and developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences. Strong leadership, people management, communication and organization skills The ability to oversee all facets of day-to-day warehouse operations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (e.g. MS Excel & MS Outlook)
