Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with company goals. Develop and execute strategies to optimize productivity, accuracy, and efficiency to reduce operational costs. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation within the distribution center.

Operational Management:

Oversee daily DC operations, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping. Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders to meet customer demands. Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve operational performance.

Team Leadership:

Be a collaborative partner who understands the importance of expertise, recognize talent, recognize opportunities bring the right people to the table and win together. Build and lead a high-performing team by providing direction, coaching, and mentorship. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, engagement, and continuous improvement. Recruit, train, and develop staff to enhance their skills and capabilities. Model the behaviors, character, work ethic, inclusion, and integrity our partners expect.

Resource Allocation:

Optimize resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and technology, to meet operational goals. Manage budgets, control costs, and drive efficiency in the distribution center.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments such as logistics, supply chain, finance, industrial engineering, safety, and retail operations to ensure seamless coordination. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support overall business objectives.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure work environment.

Continuous improvement:

Identify and implement process, environmental, talent improvements to enhance distribution center operations. Understand the inputs, recognize the opportunities, own the improvement and outcomes.

Performance Analysis:

Analyze performance metrics and data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions, process improvement and accountability. Be present in the performance, on the floor coaching, teaching, modeling, and engaging EVERY day.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus. 10-15 yrs. proven leadership experience in distribution center management, preferably in a retail setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. In-depth knowledge of distribution center operations, logistics, and supply chain management. Familiarity with relevant technology and software systems. Effective communication and a passion for leadership and partnership based firmly on trust and respect. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to teach, coach, model, and champion Petco partners to achieve success. High energy leadership who can show up every day for Petco and our partners.
