PURPOSE:
This position manages all warehouse locations and personnel at the Shreveport Packaging plant at HWY 1. The position is responsible to manage and control all aspects of the warehouse.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complies with any applicable federal, state and local laws regarding materials handling Comply with all safety policies and procedures including use of proper PPE, safe walking surfaces, proper shelf loading and integrity, and safe operation of equipment Ensure that stock and non-stock equipment and parts are delivered or staged properly for unit turnarounds, equipment repairs, and daily maintenance activities Manage activities of warehouse assistants, ensuring proper procedures are followed Provide development opportunities to warehouse assistants, utilizing on the job and external training, to ensure that best practices are in place Partner with departments to adjust reorder points and carrying levels, based on usage and lead time Partner with departments to ensure critical spare parts are identified and properly stocked Partner with departments to maintain equipment Bills of Material Establish new stock part descriptions and numbers in SAP Conduct regular cycle counts, reconciling differences Identify and disposes of obsolete and slow-moving parts inventory Manage shipping and receiving of parts in a timely fashion Communicate effectively with suppliers and sales representatives Communicate effectively with stock and non-stock internal customers Ensure that all parts are properly labeled including details and descriptions •
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
High school diploma or GED Must be willing to be on Weekend and Holiday rotational environmental coverage that requires daily plant visits during coverage days
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
5 years prior warehouse/materials management experience in manufacturing environment Prior supervisory experience Good communications skills demonstrated by the ability to write reports and correspondence Excellent computer skills, demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, JD Edwards & SAP
