FEDEX Ground BC – Manager 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Lafayette Parish, LA The Business Contact (BC) serves as the primary liaison between the FedEx Ground terminal and the Independent Service Provider (ISP) . This leadership role is responsible for managing day-to-day delivery operations, ensuring contract compliance, optimizing route performance, and maintaining a high standard of service, safety, and employee engagement. Key Responsibilities Terminal Communication & Compliance Serve as the main point of contact with the FedEx Ground terminal for all operational matters Ensure full compliance with ISP agreement terms , safety protocols, and FXG regulations Respond to daily reports, compliance alerts, and terminal feedback in a timely manner Operational Oversight Oversee daily dispatch of delivery drivers and package handlers Monitor route performance, on-time delivery metrics, and productivity Troubleshoot service issues, customer complaints, and route inefficiencies Personnel Management Hire, train, and supervise drivers and support staff Schedule shifts, approve timecards, and coordinate time-off coverage Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and safety protocols Business Performance Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including stops per on-road hour (SPORH), service failures, and safety incidents Manage payroll submissions, vehicle inspections, and expense tracking Develop plans to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service ratings Fleet & Equipment Coordinate maintenance and repair of delivery vehicles Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and ensure compliance with FXG standards

Qualifications Experience:

2+ years of leadership experience in logistics, transportation, or delivery management (FedEx, Amazon, UPS, etc. preferred)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

Skills:

Strong communication and organizational skills Proficiency in route planning software, Microsoft Excel, and delivery analytics Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume operation Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and FedEx Ground safety protocols Physical Requirements Ability to work in a terminal environment and on delivery routes as needed Must pass FedEx Ground background and MVR checks Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Performance-based bonuses Paid time off and holidays Opportunity for growth in a FedEx ISP operation
