Position Summary:
The Electrical Warehouse/Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of tools, fleet vehicles, electrical equipment, materials, and overall warehouse operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring operational readiness, maintaining asset accountability, and supporting field operations by ensuring equipment availability and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The manager will lead warehouse personnel and may directly supervise helpers, laborers, mechanics, and drivers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the warehouse, tool crib, and fleet assets, ensuring optimal organization, cleanliness, and safety. Oversee inventory control systems for tools, electrical equipment, and consumables, ensuring accuracy and availability for field teams. Maintain records of asset usage, calibration, repairs, and scheduled maintenance. Track and manage fleet vehicles including assignment, maintenance schedules, and compliance with DOT requirements. Develop and enforce SOPs related to equipment usage, asset tracking, and safety standards. Coordinate with project managers and field teams to forecast and fulfill equipment and tool needs. Supervise warehouse staff, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance oversight. Support facility maintenance to ensure workspaces are operational and safe. Conduct regular audits and physical inventory checks; reconcile discrepancies in records. Prepare asset and inventory reports for management, including cost tracking and usage trends. Facilitate shipment/receiving of goods and materials in accordance with project deadlines. Travel as required to support satellite warehouses or job sites. Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational and time management skills. Working knowledge of electrical tools, components, and jobsite materials. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/asset management systems. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices. Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and industry-specific compliance standards. CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred but not required. Willingness to travel and work overtime as necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade certification preferred. 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, inventory, or asset management, preferably within an electrical or industrial environment. Supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and reaching in warehouse and yard environments. Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Prolonged periods using computers and inventory systems. Occasional travel to remote job sites or off-site storage facilities.
Work Environment:
Primarily based in a warehouse or storage facility with periodic field visits. May be exposed to loud noises, moving machinery, and outdoor conditions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on tasks.
