In this role, you will provide essential support in a nursing home or group home environment, ensuring the well-being and comfort of residents. Your responsibilities will include assisting with meal preparation, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs, all while upholding the rights and dignity of each resident. Duties Assist in meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals for residents, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation is maintained. Monitor vital signs and report any changes in residents’ health status to the nursing staff. Support residents with daily living activities, promoting their independence and dignity. Uphold resident rights by providing respectful care and maintaining confidentiality. Collaborate with social workers and healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to CPR, medication administration, and resident care. Requirements Previous experience in a nursing home or group home setting is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of resident rights and commitment to providing compassionate care. Basic understanding of medication administration procedures and vital sign monitoring. Ability to prepare meals that meet nutritional guidelines and cater to individual dietary needs. Certification in CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held is required. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
