Job DescriptionThe Distribution Manager will play a critical role in executing strategic distribution initiatives that support the transformation of Fiberon’s distribution network into a balanced, cost-effective, and high-performing operation. This position will provide operational leadership for Concord, NC distribution centers, ensuring consistent execution and high service levels. The role will lead complex, cross-functional, and enterprise-wide initiatives focused on driving efficiency in both distribution and inventory management. As a hands-on leader, the Distribution Manager will leverage end-to-end supply chain expertise, advanced analytics, and best practices in change and transition management to achieve business objectives. A strong emphasis will be placed on enhancing customer service and the overall customer experience.
POSITION LOCATION
Concord, NCRESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead operational excellence at 2 distribution sites for Fiberon to meet customer expectations around the backlog, on time and in full deliveries.
Lead distribution teams through servant leadership to ensure all team members feel valued in their jobs.
Build daily performance plans for each department based on the volume for the day.
Lead corporate programs like PAR, Critical 15, Critical 3, 1:1s, Lean, Change Mgmt., etc.
Conduct daily stand-up meetings with the associates to ensure all communication is clear and free flowing.
Discuss daily KPI metrics while having “seek to understand” conversations around metric misses and gains. Ensure the leaders and teams understand how to achieve the metrics set for the building.
Report out weekly scorecard, service metrics and safety updates to senior leaders and peers.
Identify areas of improvement in operational efficiency that leverage knowledge of the end-to-end supply chain and work collaboratively across the supply chain, related businesses, suppliers, and customers to drive ideation, options, and solutions.
Develop leaders by providing opportunity and growth to create development and continuous improvement.
Challenge current and/or traditional ways for measuring performance and create new approaches/solutions that will improve business outcomes.
Implement and maintain safety standards through the critical fifteen scoring standards.
Maintain and report out all OPUS incidents while maintaining learning teams for proactive measures to mitigate future incidents.
Foster a positive and productive culture with open communication, trust, and collaboration.
Manage daily, monthly, and annual financial goals based on budgetary numbers.
Maintain SOP documents for operation.
QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of relevant supply chain/manufacturing experience in roles of increasing responsibility.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Engineering, or related discipline is required.
Experience in supply chain end-to-end processes including demand planning, supply planning, scheduling, capacity management, and/or logistics is required. A minimum of 3 years in a lead role is preferred.
Ability to drive and lead a progressive safety culture.
Experience operating in an ERP environment.
Supply Chain and Six Sigma expertise gained through training, certification, and/or industry associations is preferred (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, PMP).Skillful in building valued partnerships with stakeholders, communicating and influencing effectively across all levels of an organization, leading change, collaborating, and working cross-functionally, facilitating workshops, applying emotional intelligence, and employing analytics.
Additional InformationFortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $85,000 USD – $105,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
