This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, as well as retirement.

NCWorks Career Centers provide a full range of services to diverse categories of job seekers and employers to meet their employment and placement needs through: assessment and development of job requirements; evaluation of experiences, skills and abilities; referral to jobs, job training programs, and other placement services. This position provides the management of the Division of Workforce Solutions (DWS) employees within a large sized NCWorks Career Center office housed in Durham. The position plans and directs the activities of the DWS staff in providing employment service, job training, limited unemployment insurance service and labor market information service applicant and employer clients in Durham County. It works closely with the NCWorks Career Center Operator and other center partners to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery to customers. The position interacts closely with local employers, economic development entities, NCWorks Career Center Operator, Workforce Development Board (WDB), public officials, and other employment and training organizations to ensure appropriate delivery of services to clients. In addition this position is expected to also assist with delivery of services to customers daily to include direct service provision. This position is responsible for the continued coordination of DWS employees within the NCWorks Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) system and the incumbent must be able to function as the center operator if deemed necessary. Work is performed independently under the administrative supervision of the DWS Regional Operations Director for the North Central Prosperity Zone.

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in public or private employment service-related work including three years in a supervisory capacity; or Associate’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of experience in public or private employment service-related work including three years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
