Job Description

Warehouse Operations Manager 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Durham, NC 27703 Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee our distribution center’s daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and operations management, with a proven ability to lead teams effectively. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency of our warehouse operations, from inventory management to freight logistics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintenance of all branch inventories. Oversees job performance of all branch employees. Ensures that customer service is the branch’s highest priority. Communicates to vendors any shipping discrepancies and maintains Discrepancy Reports. Resolves transfer variances. Resolves any Negative On Hand inventory quantities. Reviews and resolves open Receiving Reports. Processes bi-weekly payroll and forwards to Corporate Payroll Department. Forwards documents relating to new employees or of employees with change of status to Human Resources. Provides input for branch annual budget. Communicates with Operations Manager to ensure optimal branch operations. Develop warehouse operations policies and procedures and communicate information to warehouse staff. Maintain standards of health, safety, and security in the warehouse. Including communicating and enforcing company safety policies and safe work habits. Serve as liaison to transport companies. Plan, coordinate, and monitor the picking and receiving of materials. Responsible for the efficient utilization of space and organization of the warehouse. Responsible for inventory control procedures and ensuring inventory accuracy. Confirms customer shipments and inter-branch transfers are accurate and promptly confirmed. Responsible for the recruitment and training of warehouse personnel as well as monitoring staff performance and conducting disciplinary and performance appraisal documentation. Responsible for the maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment in the warehouse. Responsible for the quality, accuracy, and support provided to customers and branch teams through the warehouse operations. Completes duties assigned by Operations Manager.

Minimum Education, Training & Experience Required:

A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent is required. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Delivery experience is desired. An understanding of HVAC parts and equipment is desired. A valid state driver’s license is required. Must have basic computer and data entry skills. Numerical Aptitude:

Requires the ability to add and subtract totals, multiply and divide.

Form/Spatial Aptitude:

Requires the ability to inspect and measure items for proper length, width and shape. Must have sufficient visual acuity to properly place and align components.

Reasoning Ability:

Requires the ability to solve practical problems. Requires the ability to read maps.

Manual Dexterity:

Requires the ability to raise, manipulate, and maneuver tools, components and materials and handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. There are occasional requirements to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls and reach with hands and arms. Must have above average eye/hand/foot coordination.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to physically lift equipment components, parts and machinery. Frequent standing, bending, stooping and/or walking are required. Must be able to use body members to work, move and lift or carry heavy objects, equipment or materials of up to 70 pounds. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for active work. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and color vision as needed for driving and visual inspections of equipment and materials. Must have the ability to operate a forklift.

Physical Communication:

Must have the ability to talk (expressing and/or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words) and/or hear (perceiving sounds of nature by ear).

Working Conditions and Hazards:

Work is regularly performed in a warehouse that may be dimly lit with exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes and airborne particles. There is risk of occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and gases, outside weather conditions, extreme cold or heat and loud noises. Must have the ability to operate a Company vehicle and travel throughout the service area.
