Job Summary:
The Warehouse Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing all receiving, warehouse and shipping functions, ensuring efficient operations across receiving, storing, picking, inventory management, and outbound shipping. This position plays a vital leadership role in coordinating daily operations, driving continuous improvement through lean and 6S principles, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to meet customer demands and production schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all warehouse activities in support of manufacturing and customer fulfillment, including receiving, stocking, picking, staging, and shipping. Maintain physical condition and layout of the warehouse by planning improvements, inspecting equipment, and coordinating repairs and replacements. Ensure the proper maintenance and availability of all warehouse equipment and supplies. Develop and implement cycle counting strategies and lead general physical inventory counts; reconcile variances and ensure data accuracy in ERP (SAP). Implement and enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory strategies and investigate inventory discrepancies. Use SAP and barcode systems to maintain accurate records of inventory, transactions, and shipments. Ensure all shipping operations are performed at an optimal level, including packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier scheduling for LTL, FTL, and small parcel shipments. Process and oversee shipping orders using SAP, ensuring timely and accurate outbound deliveries. Possess in-depth knowledge of shipping procedures, freight routes, and cost-effective rate structures to determine best shipping methods. Operate or oversee the safe use of forklifts (sit-down and stand-up), pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Lead by example in supervising daily warehouse and shipping activities; ensure consistent training, development, and cross-training of staff. Coach, counsel, discipline, and appraise team performance to drive high morale, safety, and retention. Act as a key point of support to the Shipping Supervisor, ensuring delegated tasks are completed and filling in during their absence. Push a culture of 6S, lean operations, and safety by proactively addressing concerns and leading corrective actions. Coordinate closely with Sales, Production, Customer Service, and Purchasing to support on-time delivery, material availability, and real-time issue resolution. Respond promptly to complaints or issues related to inventory or shipments, ensuring customer satisfaction and root cause mitigation. Determine the need for and implement Kanban or other lean material flow systems. Continuously assess and improve warehouse workflows, shipping accuracy, and space utilization. Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations related to warehousing, shipping, and safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possess and display Interroll’s Guiding Principles at all times: Integrity Teamwork Professionalism Innovation Accountability Possess (4) year College Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess at least five years of similar or related experience in a warehouse setting. Possess proficiency in one or more software programs including Microsoft Office products. SAP experience a plus. Possess the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Possess the ability to address and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 7. Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, requests for quotes, technical drawings, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 8. Possess communications skills using common courtesy and the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or employees. 9. Possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
