Job Summary:

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the distribution center to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely movement of goods. This role ensures operational excellence in shipping, receiving, inventory management, safety compliance, and team leadership. FMLA & Bereavement Leave Essential Functions:

Take full ownership of daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory, picking, packing, shipping, and returns. Ensure accurate and on-time order fulfillment to retail stores, commercial customers, and other facilities Monitor workflow and productivity and adjust resources to meet operational demands. Establish and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive consistency and efficiency. Maintain accurate inventory control practices and conduct regular audits to reduce shrink and discrepancies. Drive process improvements using a structured, methodical approach and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Manage operating budget and control expenses within targets. Manage the distribution center budget and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service. Work cross-functionally with purchasing and Store operations to improve workflow and customer satisfaction. Set performance expectations and hold team members accountable through clear direction, structured coaching, and regular feedback. Build a motivated, reliable team and manage warehouse staff; provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and development opportunities. Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and safety. Lead team meetings and communicate expectations clearly to ensure alignment across shifts and departments. Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations; lead by example in creating a safe and organized workplace. Develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols in compliance with company and OSHA standards. Ensure the consistent and proper use of equipment, vehicles and safety gear; ensure vehicles and tools are maintained and ready for use. All other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School/Associate/Bachelor’s degree required / 4 years’ experience in Warehouse or Store Management may be considered in lieu of degree Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, database experience and video use (Zoom/Teams) required. Effective communication skills as well as strong presentation and written skills. Ability to design and make regular verbal and electronic presentations at store, corporate and executive meetings. Proven ability to set and execute daily, weekly, and monthly agendas. Must be flexible and able to operate in a team environment. Valid Driver’s License and Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record required Able to diagnose problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and resolve a variety of operational issues ranging from ordinary to complex. Able to Interpret and explain instructions, processes and policies including financial, inventory and operational reports, to establish programs and procedures, identify, and define operational problems where limited standardization may exist, and recommend a plan of action to resolve the problem(s). Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to changing requirements on short notice. Personal qualities of flexibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
