Posting Number 5426 Definition of Class Processes all forms of inmate mail, review and process electronic inmate messages and oversees the inmate tablet program. Nature of Work This employee is responsible for the overall operation of inmate mail duties including the handling and verification of legal mail, in house mail, money orders and received publications. The approval of scanned mail via vendor, completing receipts of mail as required by policy, rejection and notification of contraband and third party mail. Coordinate with the Inmate Service Coordinator for mail that is required to be printed. Handle all requests and actions involving certified mail. Respond to inmate requests and questions. This individual would also provide clerical support to the administrative team. This employee is responsible for the processing of electronic messages sent to and by inmates. The process includes the approval or rejection of messages, referral to security and assisting inmates with issues. This employee is also responsible for the overall operation of the inmate tablet program including the handling of inventory, issuing of chargers and replacement tablets, the handling of returned items due to discharge/disciplinary procedures. Also responsible for the submitting and tracking of tickets to vendor for various issues with applications, hardware and inmate purchases. This employee is also responsible for assisting in investigations at the directive of Administration, gathering, analyzing and maintaining intelligence information on security issues at the prison. Maintaining confidential information regarding mail and tablet investigations. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 2 years of Clerical Experience Basic Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Conditions Of Employment
