MAU is hiring an Assistant Distribution Center Manager for our client in Cedar Rapids, IA. As an Assistant Distribution Center Manager, you will oversee inside sales and warehouse management, ensuring efficient shipping, inventory control, and customer engagement. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Required Education and Experience
3+ years of forklift experience
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
5+ years of experience supervising or managing operations in a distribution center
General Requirements
Strong speaking and active listening skills
Coordination and critical thinking abilities
Ability to monitor and assess performance for improvements
Essential Functions
Serve as the primary contact for sales quoting, order management, and confirmations
Develop relationships with new and existing customers
Acquire deep product knowledge to assist and educate customers
Upsell accessory products to maximize sales
Advise customers on market trends and changes
Gather market intelligence and leverage customer relationships for competitive negotiations
Achieve optimal pricing for products
Prepare and submit weekly Pulse Reports
Perform additional duties as assigned
Supervise a team of 6-10 warehouse employees
Select, develop, and motivate warehouse personnel
Promote teamwork to meet productivity targets
Conduct daily safety walk-throughs to ensure a clean and safe warehouse
Enforce company policies related to conduct and safety, initiating disciplinary action when necessary
Lead monthly safety meetings and quarterly driver safety meetings
Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts
Identify and resolve causes of product loss
Implement and maintain a bin location system for inventory management
Assist warehouse employees in loading and unloading trucks
Control costs through efficient personnel and storage utilization
Optimize warehouse layout and truck loading to minimize loading times
Ensure vehicles, machinery, and equipment meet OSHA and Federal DOT safety standards
Manage PeopleNet system to monitor drivers’ hours and compliance with Federal DOT regulations
Plan and organize delivery routes for efficiency and profitability
Perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with arms, talk, and hear
Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Requires flexibility, strength, and manual dexterity for handling objects
