EXPERIENCED YARD MANAGER

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the processing and recycling of scrap materials, managing heavy equipment, and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities

• Overseeing the daily operations of the yard, including scheduling, shipments, and managing supplies.
• Monitoring inventory levels and maintaining accurate records of all goods stored in the yard.
• Supervising and train yard staff, ensuring they adhere to safety procedures and company standards.
• Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and in good working order.
• In some cases, a yard manager may be responsible for interacting with customers, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues.
• Reporting on yard activity and performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in scrap yard operations
• Preferred
• 3+ years of experience in yard operations
• Required
• 3 + years proven experience supervising, training and delegating for 15 to 20 employees
• Required
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diagnosing heavy machinery repairs.
• Required
• Proven experience operating heavy machinery Physical Requirements

• Work Environment:

• Must work outdoors under varying weather conditions and be able to be on your feet all day. This is NOT an office or desk job .
• Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to various machinery and tools. Will be exposure to noise, dust and other industrial elements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education /

Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in metals processing or related fields are a plus.
• Must be proficient in English. Bilingual in Spanish would be preferred
• Valid Driver’s license with dependable transportation
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Job Type:

$80,000.00
