Warehouse Manager 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 800 Airpark Commerce Drive, Nashville, TN 37217 Velocity International Group is seeking a driven, hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead our growing warehouse operations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day performance of all warehousing activities, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and team leadership. - Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inbound/outbound shipments, inventory accuracy, picking, packing, and order fulfillment.
- Manage all daily order fulfillment including printing, picking and packing
- Clear and concise communication with all fulfillment customers regarding order updates and inventory requests. Customer service through proper email channels is imperative.
- Implement and improve processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Lead, coach, and manage warehouse staff; onboarding, training, monitor performance, delegate and participate in performance reviews. Maintain Velocity’s safety, quality, and productivity standards; hold the team accountable to those expectations.
- Collaborate with the transportation department to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Coordinate and schedule FTL and LTL shipments with carriers and clients.
- Proactively manage supplies and warehouse resources to avoid disruptions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through KPIs, audits, and workflow enhancements.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed; ensure the team is certified and compliant with safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free facility.
- Communicate with vendors and facility services as needed.
- Be onsite Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with flexibility for occasional earlier loads and/or after-hours needs. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in warehousing, logistics, or distribution.
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing warehouse operations and teams.
- Forklift certification and at least 1 year of forklift operation experience.
- Proven experience implementing warehouse systems, SOPs, and process improvements. Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent communication across teams, departments, and with clients or vendors.
- Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets (formulas, tracking, audits).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable making data-driven decisions and driving accountability.
- Familiarity with WMS, TMS, and general logistics software. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical labor when necessary.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and work on a computer.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions.
