$55,000 per year Reports to: Business Owner / CEO Job Overview We are looking for a highly organized and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee our importing, warehousing, order fulfillment, and shipping operations . This role is responsible for managing inventory, warehouse staff, logistics, and process improvements to ensure smooth and efficient order fulfillment. The ideal candidate has experience in supply chain management, warehouse operations, and e-commerce fulfillment and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Supply Chain & Inventory Management Coordinate with overseas manufacturers to ensure timely production and shipment of furniture. Oversee import logistics , including customs clearance, duties, and tariffs. Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts. Implement inventory tracking systems to ensure real-time stock accuracy. Conduct quality control checks on incoming shipments. 2. Quality Management at Manufacturing Sites Establish and maintain quality control standards for products manufactured by suppliers. Conduct on-site inspections or work with third-party quality assurance teams to ensure product consistency. Develop inspection checklists and guidelines for manufacturers to adhere to. Address production defects, material inconsistencies, and compliance issues before shipment. Work closely with suppliers to implement continuous quality improvements and maintain high standards. 3. Warehouse & Fulfillment Management Oversee daily warehouse operations , ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Develop efficient storage systems to maximize space and facilitate easy order picking. Implement safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and warehouse regulations . Monitor warehouse performance KPIs (order accuracy, picking/packing speed, returns processing). Supervise and train warehouse staff on proper furniture handling and crating . 4. Order Processing & Shipping Logistics Manage order fulfillment process from website order placement to final delivery. Coordinate with freight carriers, LTL shipping, and white-glove delivery services to ensure cost-effective, timely shipping. Implement packaging and crating procedures to reduce damages during transit . Track shipments and provide updates to customers on delivery status. Handle shipping claims, returns, and exchanges efficiently. 5. Cost Management & Process Optimization Monitor and reduce operational costs (warehousing, shipping, labor, import duties). Identify bottlenecks in fulfillment and warehouse processes and implement improvements. Negotiate contracts with suppliers, logistics providers, and warehouse equipment vendors . Utilize warehouse management software (WMS) and automation tools to streamline operations. 6. Team Leadership & Development Recruit, train, and manage warehouse and logistics team members . Foster a positive, safety-conscious workplace culture. Conduct performance reviews and provide training as needed. Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management (preferably in furniture, home goods, or e-commerce)
- Strong understanding of inventory control, warehousing best practices, and freight logistics .
- Experience managing imported goods, customs clearance, and international supply chains is a plus.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, etc.) and order fulfillment
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS) and inventory tracking tools .
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on cost reduction and process efficiency .
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, Inventory management and supply chain is a must.
