AMSTI Materials Manager
Salary Schedule Placement:

AMSTI-ALSDE
at the time of employment. Allmitments found in this document are contingent upon the availability of funds as appropriated by the legislature. This position is Grant funded. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. This is a non-tenure track position/Non-Probationary status cannot be obtained.
AMSTI Materials Manager Sites which house materials centers are allowed either a business manager or a materials manager, but not both positions. AMSTI Materials Manager is a 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the AMSTI Director, the Instructional Division Administrator, the President, and the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, responsibilities will include the following:
AMSTI Materials Manager responsibilities include the following: Maintainmunication with and coordinate work through the AMSTI State Materials Director to maximize warehouse efficiency. Oversee the operation of the materials center.
Maintain the databases to ensure the region’s data is accurate and up to date, according to
AMSTI-ALSDE
requirements. Maintain adequate archives of database records so that information from prior years can be easily located. Supervise and train materials specialists assigned to the materials center.
Provide materials, supplies, and equipment to AMSTI-trained teachers as specified by
AMSTI-ALSDE.
Schedule the distribution and rotation of AMSTI modules to schools and teachers.
Coordinate the delivery and return of AMSTI kits and materials with school systems. Communicate effectively with administrators and/or teachers about materials usage and professional learning, based on information provided by AMSTI staff.
Organize the materials center to ensure efficient use of space and storage of materials. Provide reports to the site director and/or

regarding the teacher and materials databases, material costs, distribution schedules, employee assignments, and labor hours, as requested. Assist AMSTI and
AMSTI-ASIM
staff with preparation for programs and presentations and with the operation of the materials center.

Establish and enforce policies to ensure the materials center operates safely and effectively, includingplying with all national, state, local, and university safety regulations.
Attend all required professional learning activities and staff meetings conducted by the ALSDE unless the ALSDE grants prior approval for absence.
Perform other duties as assigned by the AMSTI site director, AMSTI State Materials Director, or
AMSTI-ALSDE.

Effective oral and writtenmunication skills,
Ability to lift heavy object (at or above 40 pounds) required.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. The site director may document prior work experience that is directly related to the skills required in this position, such as accounting, warehousing, purchasing, and stocking, inventory control,puter/database, business, and facility/operation management, and allow such experience to count toward time placement on the salary matrix. If needed, the AMSTI State Materials Director is available to assist with decisions related to awarding of prior experience. Application Procedures/Additional Information
